The Shiv Jyoti Educational Group was founded in the year 1982 by dedicated and devoted educationists and thinkers. We started with a mere two-roomed educational center aiming to provide an environment which facilitated the development of children in a manner that was creative and stimulating.
Shiv Jyoti Convent Sr. Sec. School, Shrinathpuram-D was established under the aegis of Shiv Jyoti Educational Group, Kota. The school is affiliated to CBSE. The Shiv Jyoti Educational Group, Kota was founded in the year 1982 by a group of dedicated and devoted eminent educationists and thinkers. Children start to explore the world around them as soon as they are born. At Shiv Jyoti, the play group curriculum enables children to continue their exploration. Early experiences in the first few years of life are critical for acquisition of skills as maximum development of brain happens during this period. The objective of the program is to train parents to help them foster their child’s development by learning and practicing child development through a scientific approach. This program will foster social, aesthetic and motor skills in young children. This program helps infants and toddlers develop their latent language and Maths skills

Quality education in the early years of preschool sets a firm foundation in the overall development of a child. At Shiv Jyoti, the nursery curriculum provides a right array of activities to help children move towards achieving their early learning goals. In Nursery, children are engaged in school readiness activities such as reading, writing, counting, number recognition and problem solving in a fun filled but purposeful manner. Children are encouraged to corroborate their learning through collaborative activities in the areas of dramatics, science and arts.

• The transition from preschool to primary school is a crucial time of change for both children as well as their parents. At Shiv Jyoti, the Kindergarten (K.G.) curriculum ensures smooth transition to formal schooling with meaningful and progressive learning experiences.
• In addition to age-appropriate activities in Kindergarten, which prepare a child for success in formal school; various other activities are conducted in the areas of language, numbers, general knowledge, music, art in a planned manner throughout the program.
• Through these activities, children learn the alphabet and letter sounds, numbers and simple math and master early writing skills. Furthermore, each child’s development is measured with Continuous Evaluation throughout the year..
A spirit of enquiry goes hand in hand with the sound acquisition of languages and numeracy skills. Our aim is to offer a broad and balanced curriculum. The subject areas are English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science, General Science and Environmental Studies, Music, Dance, Drama, Art, Technology, Physical Education and Personal, Social and Moral Education. The assessment of student work is continuous and broad in its scope. Students are encouraged to reflect on their work and assessments and make efforts for continuous improvement. Our programme is affiliated to CBSE.

Students are helped to keep pace with the accelerated academic challenges and get support in acquiring life skills. They are assisted with study skills, organization of work and gain confidence at performing under examination conditions. Pastoral care is a priority for the school and great care and attention is taken to ensure that there is regular contact between students and teachers. The academic subject areas include English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Computer, History, Geography and Civics and a third language is also added to the curriculum. The program is supported by individual and group activities outside the regular curriculum, as well as guest speakers, community projects and intensive workshops.

The topics range from Environment to Substantial Development through Non-violence, Bio-diversity, Elections and Democracy, from life skills to attitudes and values to health and physical education.
We take note of national and international festivals and anniversaries at our morning assemblies and also celebrate them through dance, drama, music, debate, story-telling sessions, painting and other creative endeavours. We try to inculcate knowledge and values through ‘Thought of the day’, Amazing Facts & News regularly. Parents and other family members are regularly invited to school functions
The outdoor activities at Shiv Jyoti Convent School not only offer the optimum opportunity for physical development of the student but also nurtures his holistic growth. We consider each SJCS student as a delegate; we expect the students to be on time, prepared and always have the Great Spirit which makes winners apart from losers. We believe that each child has infinite potential and working in a team towards common goal furthers this potential.
“We are the music makers & we are the dreamers of dreams.” Today our lives are filled with limitations and rules. We at SJCS want our students to be free, to be able to express themselves in the form of Music, Dance and Theatre. Students exhibit their talent according to their interests. They are given a variety of instruments for their musical taste, open stage and talent shows to showcase their Dancing and Theatrical skills. Expert teachers guide students for their better performances.
The school is divided into 4 Houses and each student is allocated one house. Students are clubbed under four houses – Shiva (Green), Omkara (Pink), Neelkanth (Blue), Rudra (Red). They are divided to inculcate a healthy sense of competition and a spirit of cooperation as well as coordination in them. Inter-house competitions in Quiz, Debate, Recitation, Speech, Creative Writing, Sports etc. capitalise on the staunch loyalty and devotion exhibited by the participants keen to establish the supremacy of their house over the others. The school environment is electrified with charged emotions when academics take a back seat for a while to make way for thrilling experiences.
